Dear Butterfly Friends,

On a beautiful summerday I was born on 13th July 1969 in Berlin, Germany. After years, having lived in a big city, my parents decided to move to the Netherlands, all happened in November 1980. Since I'm 11 years old, my biggest passion are butterflies, especially photographing them. All started when I was on holiday with my parents in Austria (1980). Meadows, fields full with butterflies. At that time I took photographs with a simple Agfa camera.
My love for butterflies was deeply: In the age of 12 - 14 I collected caterpillars to feed them and study them. I allowed them to use my room as their climbing area (my mother hated that!). Mostly, after a few days I released them, but sometimes it happens, that after a while a butterfly flew in my room.

see it, but I'm photographing a Purple Hairstreak
(Quercusia quercus).

Today I use a reflex-camera, a Canon EOS 10 with a special macro lens from Sigma. To get best quality, I usually take photographs when the sun is shining. Only under extreme circumstances I use my flash light. Every butterfly, sleeping, drinking nectar or mating will be catched on photo!
Two and a half years ago I moved to Hoogeloon, a small village near Eindhoven in The Netherlands. I have got my own garden now, which I like to change totally into a butterfly garden. Every year I change some pieces of the garden to attract more butterflies. In about 4 to 5 years the garden will be ready; at least I hope so!
Since years I have the wish to change my hobby "photography" into my profession.After a few orders, I decided to start my own business some weeks ago:
